According to Auto123 and Motor1, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (the “FCA Group”) registered the Cuda name with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the third time in ten years. The filing is for “land vehicles, namely, passenger automobiles”.
The filing is not confirmation that a new model is coming, but indicates that something could be in the works.
It has been speculated that the name could be used for the first electrified Dodge muscle car. However, the company has not confirmed anything.
While it is possible that the FCA Group is simply preserving its rights to the name, some Dodge patents indicate that a hybrid vehicle may be on the way.
