The eye-catching modern design of Apple’s newest over-ear headphones is not the only feature grabbing attention recently. The headphones’ sleek design, sound quality, and hefty price tag mean the tech and business communities are taking note.
The patent behind the headphones is just as interesting as the industry buzz.
As reported by Patently Apple, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Apple a patent for a virtual acoustic system for headphones that produce 3D audio. A virtual acoustic system gives the listener the illusion that the sound is coming from somewhere in space rather than the loudspeakers placed on their ears.
