Chanel reaches settlement with London-based resale site, Crepslocker

August 16, 2021

--

As reported by The Fashion Law, Chanel has reached a settlement with a London-based resale site, Crepslocker, regarding the sale of Chanel’s authentic double “C” branded wares in conditions that Chanel alleged were damaging to its brand image.

Chanel alleged that Crepslocker made unauthorized use of its trademark-protected name and double “C” logo, including through the inclusion of Chanel’s name on a list of “available brands” on the Crepslocker website, alongside other brands that did not have similar associations of luxury, prestige, exclusivity as those enjoyed by Chanel.

Chanel further alleged that Crepslocker’s packaging of the Chanel products did not meet Chanel’s standards.
