Renowned producer, Benny Blanco, probably wanted to attract some attention for his debut hit single, “Eastside”, but perhaps not the kind of attention he has received as of late.
Indie-pop group American XO is claiming that Blanco’s single sounds eerily similar to their own song “Loveless”. They have reportedly launched a copyright infringement suit alleging the two songs share a similar tempo, beat, and note dyads, and that Blanco must have come across their song and copied parts of it for his own.
American XO is also going after heavy-hitters such as Ed Sheeran, Halsey, and Khalid who collaborated with Blanco on Eastside.
