As reported by GM Authority, General Motors (“GM”) has filed a trademark application for “GM Restoration” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
This trademark filing may indicate that GM is launching a restoration division or program for vintage cars. It could also mean that GM will launch a new line of officially licensed repair and/or replacement parts for its products that are no longer being produced.
Considering that Porsche already has a vintage restoration program for its old vehicles, some speculate that GM is planning a similar program. Porsche’s restoration program is based in Atlanta, where vintage Porsche owners can bring their vehicle to have it professionally restored, using only Porsche Classic Genuine Parts, original manuals, and techniques.
