Goodmans Intellectual Property Litigation practice were winners at last night’s Managing IP Awards Americas 2025 once again receiving two prestigious awards: Canada Practitioner of the Year – Patent Disputes, and an Impact Case of the Year!
Andrew Brodkin Once Again Wins Canada Practitioner of the Year – Patent Disputes

Congratulations to Goodmans partner Andrew Brodkin, on being named Canada Practitioner of the Year (Patent Disputes) for the second consecutive year!
Andrew Brodkin is a partner and a member of the Executive Committee at Goodmans. Andrew also heads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group, and focusses his practice on high stakes intellectual property litigation where he has been described as “ having had more successes than anyone in this practice area in history” (Lexology Index) and as “the undisputed IP litigator in Canada” (Chambers Canada).
Goodmans Intellectual Property Litigation Group Once Again Wins Impact Case of the Year for Steelhead LNG v Arc Resources (2024 FCA 67)

Goodmans Intellectual Property Litigation Group, with a team led by Andrew Brodkin and Daniel Cappe, once again won an Impact Case of the Year award for their representation of ARC Resources Ltd., Rockies LNG and Birchcliff Energy Ltd., in which they successfully avoided patent infringement sought by Steelhead LNG Ltd. for inventions related to at-shore liquefaction of natural gas.
