Professional wrestler and All Elite Wrestling Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes has had his trademark application for “Dusty Rhodes” – the name of his late, great WWE Hall of Fame father – rejected. The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued the refusal due to the proposed mark being too confusingly similar to “Dustin Rhodes”, a trademark already owned by Dusty Rhodes’s eldest son, and Cody’s half-brother, Dustin Rhodes aka “Goldust”.
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Cody may have two options: file an appeal or get approval from the owner of the registration causing the trademark block. It is not yet known whether Cody will actually pursue the trademark, although his legal team is confident that they would have no problem securing it.
