Volta Targets Advertisers with Two New Patents for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

November 5, 2021

--

As reported by Businesswire, Volta, a company specializing in charging stations for electric vehicles, recently announced the issuance of two utility patents by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The first patent covers a variation of Volta’s existing charging station capable of providing targeted advertisements to an individual actively using the charging station using information known about that individual, as well as advertisements based on certain demographic information related to the location of the charging station when the charging station is not in use.

The second patent relates to a charging station with two electronic displays, which allows for access behind the displays and inside the charger.

These new patents signal an evolution toward a more targeted experience from Volta’s current charging stations, which already feature large displays capable of providing content to drivers using the charging stations and passersby.
