Dish and iFit Reach the Finish Line Settling Infringement Dispute

March 20, 2024

--

Dish Network and iFit have reportedly reached an agreement to settle their legal disputes over the use of Dish Network’s streaming-video technology in iFit’s exercise equipment.

The dispute arose from Dish Network’s accusation that NordicTrack, a subsidiary of iFit, was infringing Dish Network’s patents. Dish Network filed its most recent complaint with the US International Trade Commission (“ITC”) in September, 2023.

In a joint filing in the US District Court of Delaware, the parties said they have reached a definitive settlement that resolves all claims and defenses in the action. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

The settlement comes after the ITC previously ordered that iFit stop infringing Dish Network’s patents. Despite the order, Dish Network made further complaints that iFit was selling infringing products and later asking customers to install an update that would replace the infringing software.
