As reported by the National Law Review, DoorDash Inc. continues to innovate in the hopes of maintaining its position in the food delivery market, this time with an order combining patent.
DoorDash has a patent that will give users a discount if they combine orders with other users. The concept is to "share" the delivery person, thereby reducing the overall cost of the transaction.
Users do not need to order from the same restaurant in order to unlock this promotion. Rather, the patent is based on the users' location. If two users live in the same building, or near one another, they are likely to be able to combine orders and receive the discount.
