Two New Yorkers Hoping to Capitalize on “Danny Dimes”

November 6, 2019

--

New York Giants’ Daniel Jones had a strong start to his rookie season, earning himself the nickname “Danny Dimes”.

Two New York residents in particular may be the happiest about Jones’s trajectory – they applied for trademark protection of the phrase “Danny Dimes” on September 17, before Jones had even played his first game.

Christopher Lamparillo and Michael Jakab applied for the trademark when Jones was named the Giants' primary quarterback. Jones’' popularity has skyrocketed since.

It is unclear whether the Giants or Jones will try to step in to prevent Lamparillo and Jakab from profiting off Jones’s nickname.
